I am a makeup artist!

Sunday, 07 August 2011, for the first time I became a makeup artist / image stylist for Fiesta sa Bayan Danz in the City celebration. I am with my friends Francheska Gabilo, Rhea Barrios and Jesiree ‘Ate Dang’ Barredo.

Supposedly, I was one of the dancers for the said event. However due to the schedule conflicts with my work and some personal matters, I withdrew from it and decided to be their makeup artist. I am not really good in this field. I only started doing makeup on myself way back 2009 ( I guess ).

I just started to feel like I have to start wearing makeup since I am working at a professional field. I bought set of makeup, from eye shadow, blush on, lipstick, powder to facial foams, toner and even sunscreen lotions. I practiced putting it on at home but washed them away afterwards. It was not perfect though but I manage to wear simple makeup at the office. My teammates noticed my change but supported me with this. One day, while surfing at the net, I remember one makeup guru from YouTube who has simple tutorials on how to apply makeup. I searched on her name and watch her tutorials from there. ( Up to now, I am still watching it as she is still actively updating her channel. I subscribed on her channel, too! ) Her name is Michelle Phan.

From then on, I am more inspired to keep myself beautiful. But there is still my limit. I don’t want my friends to identify me as pretty by using makeup. I was to stay as beautiful as I am with my natural beauty. :)

And now, I am applying all my learning from her tutorials. And being an event’s makeup artist is the first step. Last Sunday was my first time to apply makeup on other person’s face. At first I thought I might hurt them when brushing my color on or I might accidentally ruin their skin or eyes with my handling of mascara and eyeliners. Also, I was a bit nervous when I apply makeup on especially Bee Bee’s. ( Bee Bee is our district leader… J ) But at the end of the day, everything went fine. WE, THE SALEM SUB-DISTRICT, WON THE GRAND PRIZE!!!

All the effort pays off. We find new friends and everybody is happy. And thanks to them they find the makeup very artistic. Nyay!

Action!

Having fun.. :)

Notice my hand, full of makeup colors!

This is the final look!
