Working abroad? Asking help? Read this!
Working abroad is such a great dream. So when an opportunity comes, many people will surely take a step to grab it. Even though, for some, it will take lots money to invest. There are people who take brave steps to go abroad and find their luck. In spite of going there with no relatives or even a single friend in the foreign place, they still go forward for the sake of their respective families.
How much more and greater opportunities will it be if you do have friends or relatives abroad? You can still make bold steps to take out of your comfort zone in our homeland and make way to working outside our country. STILL there are risks but having that someone we can lean on to when we step on the foreign land makes the burden go lesser.
Relatives and/or friends that are currently working abroad extend help willingly to those who needs help finding their job opportunities on the same country they are staying. Common things they can give are place to stay, food and transportation guide around the country area. They even provide help in gathering data for hiring companies.
BUT, there are some abusive people out there who take advantage on this plus side they have from the others. They often ask to refer them in the company we are currently working – this is not bad actually but what makes it bad is questioning why they still haven’t receive phone call by the company. They also ask to send resumes on email on their behalf on several companies – a lot of effort to make actually as if we are now the one’s looking the job for them – but still complains why they got no replies. Asking for companies open for hiring – when there’s a lot that can be found online! They even make us hurry to find the right company for them! I even heard one instance that they are planning to go abroad but having second thoughts because they found out that they have no assurance of finding the job at the given limited time.
Of course, there is no assurance that is why you are taking the risk. What kind of risk is it if you are bounded with the assurances that you wanted in life? For me, it cannot even be called as small risk! Come to think of it, you are on a foreign land. What are the qualities you have that makes you more qualified, despite of being a foreigner, better than their local people? How about the other nationals who, on the other part, also taking their risks as you are? THERE ARE WAY LOTS OF COMPETITIONS!!!
Yes. Alright, I sounded like a grumbler. What can I say? I just have to tell the truth. It is not easy to find a good job abroad. At least this is the information you all need to know so that you can charge up yourself to get ready to the battle. Prepare yourself, boost your confidence and pray. There is nobody in this world that can totally give you all the help that you needed except the one above.
I am an OFW, currently in Singapore, extending help as much as I can to those who need help. However, please, please, please take an initiative to do your part. Not just standing there waiting for our output. It is so grateful for us help especially if the person receiving our help is taking his own brave steps to do moves forward.
Thanks a lot!
Nice post Anne! So many people out there who likes to be spoon fed. You're right, there’s a lot that can be found online! I really hate it when some of them are so demanding. Di nila inisip na di ikaw ang may-ari nang kumpanyang ina-applayan nila(LOL)at marami din kakompitisyon...
