I've got colds! Simple health tips
It is really annoying every time you catch colds! You cannot do anything. Often times, I am drowsy because the feeling you get once you take a medicines makes you want to lie on your bed.
However, having colds on the working days is more like I wanna die! Coz I will do a lot of sniffing and will get teary eyes - my colleagues will definitely notice it.
Good news because nowadays, I rarely get colds. (Trivia: I easily get colds especially during cold weather.) It is because I change my lifestyle habit.
Here a few:
- I drink a lot of water. In the office, we have a dispenser with drinks like softdrinks, Milo, coffee and tea for free. I usually choose between softdrinks and Milo coz I don't drink coffee or tea. But now that I won a pretty tumbler from one of our party, I disciplined myself to drink water instead.
- I breathe through my nose. Sometimes when I get runny nose, I tend to breathe through my mouth. When I search online for home remedies, one of it says that try to breathe through the nose coz it will stop from nasal mucus to develop and clogs the nose. I do sometimes forgot to breathe through my nose because of the fact that I have difficulty breathing through it because of those annoying mucus. But now I know their developing stage, I tried to control myself to breathe through my nose and try to close my mouth. (I even realized to myself that my mouth is slightly open even when I am walking! So embarassing... T_T )
- I started to eat fruits. I rarely can eat fruits because we don't have one served during meal time. I eat vegetables so I thought it would be enough. But hey, unlike drugs or any other medicines out there, fruits and vegetables don't have overdosage effect. So why not eat one? Now, every after my lunch meal, I go to the fruit stand and grab at least one pack of sliced guava, watermelon or papaya ( my favorites ) and munch them while walking back to office or serves as my snacks during the late afternoon.
(By the way, I want to do some exercise but I can't seem to start now. Oh well!)
Those are some of my personal ways to take care of my health. I am here in Singapore and the lifestyle here is totally different from my homeland Philippines. Lastly, I don't have my mom to take care of me while I am sick! So sad... :(
So taking care of your health is so important. Remember, health is wealth!
